I bought my wedding dress from here and found the staff polite and very knowledgable.

As my dress was a zip up, I decided I wanted buttons added to the back and paid an extra $90 for an extra metre long piece of material that matched my dress.

After my first fitting I asked where my buttons were and the lady making the alterations didn't know what I was talking about and as Wendy wasn't in, I had to call her at a later date to ask when the buttons would be put on. Wendy remembered the buttons and told the lady making the alteration.

At my next fitting, the buttons were sewn on and I had about 15 small buttons and asked for the leftover material as my mum was going to make me a matching bag/purse and I was told they'd used up all the material. On top of that, they still charged me $4 per button for making them.

I was thoroughly unimpressed that they had used one metre of material for 15 small buttons. After much discussion with Wendy, she said it was unlikely they had used the whole metre, however they couldn't find the material so they would give me a discount on the dry cleaning.

I was told the dry cleaning had gone up to $300 when it was previously $250 (or something like that) and then the day after my wedding when I handed in my dress to be dry cleaned, she gave me another completely different price!

The service received here was good but inconsistent.

I was a 1st time looker and hesitant to purchase the first dress I loved. After going to 7 other bridal shops I went back to Hugs for Brides because they were honest, lovely people and they helped me with my fabulous bridal gown, 3 flowegirls dresses, bridesmaids, mother of the bride and fully co-ordinated all the grooms suits. Everytime I went to the shop I felt very special. Wendy really knows her job. Thanks to all at Hugs for your great service, my day was perfect. Will recommend you to all getting married.

I ordered my wedding dress here and 4 bridesmaids dresses. Wendy and her team we so helpful and offerred great advice. Irene did a marvellous job with alterations to my dress.
I didn't want to wear a veil, but with family pressure I agreed to wearing my mother's veil. They removed the 80's crown and replaced it with a comb and dyed the veil to match my dress. I would recommend them to anyone!

The experience shared with Hugs For Brides is one to remember, the staff were amazing help and made my wedding dress the way I always dreamed of it to be. Working to my budget Wendy was an amazing help and showed me how beautiful something could look by simple small tips. I enjoyed my time very much and I would recommend Hugs For Brides to any women who is planning to get married. What I've learned is this experience was very personal and emotional all happy tears and the staff are always there for you EVEN AFTER HOURS. I found it fantastic that such staff would give there time in to making there brides happy and relaxed comming there wedding day. Thank you Wendy and Staff for an amazing experience.

I had a really wonderful experience purchasing my wedding dress from hugs for Brides. Wendy went out of her way to source some dresses that i really wanted to try on - this was exceptional service that i have not experienced in any other bridal shop. She really knows what she is talking about; which dresses would suit my body shape, and even what hairstyle would suit the dress that i chose. Wendy and Vera were refreshingly honest and extremely friendly - they really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. We had a great day, and now i just can't wait to come and pick my dress up!!! Thank you :)

After getting my wedding dress and brides maids from Hugs for Brides the whole process was just so simple. Wendy and her girls brought everything together for me even my suits and matching ties, what a great bunch of people. I'd recommend them to anyone :)

I have just bought my wedding gown from Hugs for Brides, and couldn't be happier. The Saturday I was hoping to make an appointment for was fully booked, however the owner Wendy offered to open late one evening during the week, which was great. Very personalised service with no other customers in store.

After reading some of the earlier reviews I was a little hesitant about going there, but I'm very glad I did! I can understand how some of the less favourable reviews regarding service could be misinterpreted; Wendy speaks fairly directly and will tell you straight up if a dress suits you or not, and why. I am definitely the type of person who wants an honest opinion about whether a dress I was going to spend a lot of money on, and going to wear on such a special day, was going to suit me.

At another bridal store, the staff told me ‘how beautiful' and ‘how perfect' every single dress I tried on was – there were some dresses I could plainly see didn't suit my ‘pear' shape and by the end I was just over the insincere comments.

Out of all the dresses I tried on, I ended up buying one which was less expensive than the others simply because it was the perfect dress for me. Wendy could have pushed the more expensive dresses, which were all beautiful, but they just didn't have that ‘wow' factor when I was wearing them.

Wendy also gave me great suggestions on how I might wear my hair and details about the alterations I'll need to have made to my dress.

I highly recommend Hugs for Brides for beautiful gowns and excellent, thorough and honest service.

I recently purchased my wedding dress from Hugs for brides, prior to this i tried other bridal stores and was disappointed with the service and lack of help from staff. Hugs for brides went above and beyond to ensure i found the perfect dress and the staff were more than helpful. Wendy and the other ladies at the store are lovely and really go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with your wedding experience. I have not stopped raving to all my family and friends about how fantastic the service and staff are, second to none.
