A few weeks before my wedding in November 2013 I bought a dress online (from tbdress.com - no more!!!)

It looked nice on the website, but when i received it, it wasn't so wow - it also needed altering because the sizing and length was wrong. So, I took the dress to a place in Liverpool. A week before the wedding, the altered dress was received & it was a horrible sight to see. Hemming was wonky, the corset section of the dress warped & seams were clearly shown. I had never been so stressed and in so much tears in my whole life!

So a week before my big day I'm stuck in a massive rut! So, desperately, I went online looking for wedding dress shops near me. Looked at soooo many places but either the websites were down, phone numbers disconnected or some of the stores visited, their prices were WAAAAAAY too high for dresses that i didn't even like. There was one that stood out and that was Hugs For Brides. The dresses looked great on the website. The name of the store is accurate in description because that was exactly what I received before & after I found the perfect dress that I fell in love with. The amount of experience you have & honesty you bring to ensure the best for each bride, I would recommend your store to any bride-to-be going through the same that I did. I met Wendy at the Weddings on Display Expo, and felt uncomfortable about the idea of talking about wedding dresses etc. It is no secret that I am NOT a girly girl, and feel more comfortable in motorbike boots, kevlars and a tee shirt. I set up an appointment to see Wendy, and let me tell you it was the best thing I have ever done!!!! Not only am I going to have the most stunning the most flattering and fun wedding dress on the day, but I was made to feel at ease and special. Wendy knows her job, knows her dresses and does not "blow sunshine". Will I recommend Hugs for Brides? just try stopping me from telling EVERYONE. If this biker chickie can feel a princess, well you have it right there.... :-)

I was referred to Wendy by a friend from work. From the moment I walked in my family and I were greeted with exceptional warmth. I was given the time that I had booked in. When other potential customers walked in they were asked to look around and wait. Wendy made some valuable suggestions about the dress and was willing to take on my input (unlike some of the other places I had visited). I was meant to just be looking around for wedding dresses but ended up coming back a few hours later and putting in my order on that day. Wendy was willing to provide me with feedback on the types of dresses that I wanted for the bridesmaids. Planning a wedding can be a bit of an abstract idea sometimes but trying on and purchasing my dress from Hugs for Brides made it real for me. I first saw Hugs for Brides at the Sydney Bridal Expo in 2010. I was only looking for bridesmaids dresses at the time for our wedding in November 2012. When I went into the store for the first time I was stunned at what was on offer. I ended up picking the bridesmaids dresses and my own from there. From start to finish I was kept informed of what was going on with the dresses. What we needed to do. Wendy's advice was invaluable. She had me try on several dresses. The first one I tried was made for me. She then had me try on ones I thought I liked. what I realised was she was making me see why my first dress I tried on was for me. Wendy is not only professional but sensitive and extremely knowledgeable in her field. If you don't listen to her you are crazy. She is worth every cent and more

I already had a dress in mind when I made my appointment at Hugs, so when I arrived the dress was hanging in the change room ready to go. From the moment I tried it on, that was it. I knew that was my dress and didn't bother trying anything else on. Wendy added a veil, tiara and earrings and the look was perfect. Then onto the bridesmaids dresses. I had other bridesmaids dresses in another shop in my mind as the dresses I wanted. Hugs had a bridesmaid dress that would compliment my dress perfectly-although I was thinking of short dresses and these dresses were long; I was not put under any pressure whatsoever to choose their dresses over the other store's. I did end up getting all the dresses from Hugs (it was just too perfect to say no to) and it was the best thing I could have done. Each fitting the girls and I had afterwards was great. The staff are so friendly, professional and most of all make you feel incredibly comfortable.
I cannot recommend Hugs For Brides strongly enough. For me personally I will most defiantely be recommending them to all my girlfriends when they all start getting engaged and planning their weddings.
