What a let down! After taking up a promotional offer i joined origin for both electricity & gas. I was entitled to 1 month free electricity after 12 months. I have had around 6 phone calls to them to chase this deduction from my last bill & i get passed around, 1 person cannot fix this problem, i go from billing to sales to on hold etc. I don't kow why they don't make their own systems better & easier so that customers like myself do not get frustrated. I have always paid my bills on time & when they have to issue a discount it seems to be like pulling teeth. The last bill i received said i had to pay until the 12th july? Then they sent another bill with an additional fee of $10.46... I am still currently waiting for my final correct bill, i moved out 5th July!

We ran out of gas and phoned for a refill. They actually arrived one day early for the delivery which was great.

All gas 7 electricity companies are expensive and Origin is no exception. Their service is usually pretty good and we have never had any complaints in terms of supply or customer service. I guess I would prefer not to have to pay for services like gas, wouldn't we all but Origin have always been okay so we stick with them!

I had Origin for my electricity and gas in one house, we then moved and the new house did not have gas. I called to close my gas account and change the address on the electricity. I gave them the new address to send the final bill to and didn't think any more of it. They sent the final bill to the new address and I paid it. Two years later we had some problems with our electricity account so I called them and was immediately put through to the debt collection part of the gas division. They informed me that I had not paid the final bill on the gas. I proved with my bank statements that I did, it came to pass that they had been sending me notices for the last 2 years from a debt collection agency... to my old address. Even though they sent the bill to the new address they then lost that address and kept sending them to the old address. They had messed with my credit rating because they "couldn't find me" even though they had previously sent bills to that address, the electricity division had the address and it's listed in the phone book... I proved that I paid the bill but I had to take them to the ombudsman to get my credit rating back to normal. Very disappointing.

After moving recently, we needed to get gas connected. Having never lived in a house with gas before, we didn't know what we had to do. A friend referred us to Origin. So we called them, and the woman on the phone gave us so much information and did all the work for us! As well as giving us a discounted rate, she sent us all the info we needed.

Approximate cost: $-

i am swapping company as i find Origin rude no customer service and no care at all for customers. They are on top of that charging 0.6% for paying your account. YES NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR PAYING YOUR ACCOUNT. ALL TO DO WITH SHAREHOLDERS.

Origin Energy wouldn't apply a Centerlink concession which we were entitled to (according Centerlink) We had been receiving the benefit previously, but on this occasion because the benefit card was held in my partner's name and despite the fact that I was also on the card as a secondary holder Origin Energy would not allow the discount. Nothing on our part had changed to warrant this and we were not informed about any changes by Origin Energy.

We instantly voted with our feet and moved to another provider who were happy to apply the concession under the same circumstances.

Very friendly staff when setting up my gas and electricity account. Had an issue with our electricity the other night lights kept flickering on and off. Rang up Origin, was able to speak to someone relatively quickly and they sent a tradesman to test the system within 2 hours (mind you this was 8pm). Very impressed with their service

Havent had a problem with origin yet and dont really see that I will. They used to send out a little coupon book which was great for getting discounts around Melbourne but I dont think they do that anymore
