I went along to a Roller Disco with BYO, organised by a third party. The venue was fantastic, I felt like I was 8 years old again! I was able to try both roller skates and blades and enjoyed the music immensely.

We buy our meat from this butcher all of the time and have never been disappointed with quality. The staff is so friendly and you never have to wait too long. There's such a wide selection, including yoghurts (King Island), olives, cheeses, etc, so it's great when you're organising a BBQ or big dinner for family and friends. Highly recommend them!!

I love Jasper Coffee so I was delighted to stumble across this cafe in funky Brunswick St. Apart from their amazing coffees, they sell Jasper's huge array of coffee beans (many are organic and fairtrade), as well as a gallery's worth of coffee machines, tea pots, coffee & tea paraphernalia and history books! Well worth a visit!

People that know coffee don't go to Gloria Jeans - they go to places like Campos. I actually found out about them through the Living Coffee DVD series by Paul Bassett. The series is a few years old now but I was pleasantly surprised to see one of the featured baristas doing his thing behind the machine when I rocked up! Yep, the premises is small but they are worth seeking out! Best coffee I found in Sydney.

Bamboo really look after locals, particularly during the winter months. You can get ala carte & 2 course meal for only $28.50 on Wed nights. On Thurs nights, for only $22, they have themes (such as middle eastern, spanish tapas & paella, thai and vietnamese) and trivia! They're super nice and the place is clean, clean, clean.

Dylan from Blue Reef Electrics is such a professional, yet laidback, electrician. We found him through True Local and have used him ever since. He makes you feel at ease about what works he's done and what he charges. I'm only renting at the moment but if I owned a house I'd get Dylan to set up solar power.

This is such a funky gallery/furniture shop! If you go right down the back you can actually see into the workshop area. If you're lucky, you might get a chat with Tim who manages the joinery. There's always artwork by Justine McNamara to buy, as well as unique one-off tables, etc.

Young Dave makes beautiful pieces out of reclaimed Australian hardwood. You won't find a nicer guy and he'd bend over backwards for you to achieve what you want. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to come across some of his stuff at the Red Hill Markets.

These guys do great kayak tours, particularly when you're out with Gary. If you're lucky you'll spot dolphins and penguins! You can kayak right up to the mouth of the bay and see where the tough-nut surfers go out for a wave!

The staff at Trigger Bros at Pt Leo are so friendly! When looking for surf lessons, they fixed me up! When looking for a second-hand board, they fixed me up! They even let me take it out for a couple of hours to try before buying it. They custom make boards for you and stock a wide selection of stuff (e.g. booties, rashies, boards, etc).
