We usually come here for afternoon tea when it is relatively quiet. The only thing is that by this time a lot of the scones have gone! Also yummy is the stewed fruit and the cupcakes are a hit with the kids.
Such a wonderful place for kids - and adults. The variety of toys is great, especially if you are looking for something a little bit different. Our two kids love hanging out there - and the shop is set up to allow children to experience some toys e.g. Playmobil aeroplane.
Our family has been here about 4 times over the last six years to get various child seats added/changed over etc. This is the first time though that I personally had organised the fittings. The male owner was rude, condescending and made me feel as though I had inconvenienced him! I was surprised and asked my husband who agreed that this had been his experience the last three times too. I acknowledge they know their stuff re fitting child restraints, but you have to be prepared to put up with the attitude.
Approximate cost: $20
We are lucky to live nearby, but I know people who come from across town on the weekends to this place. The croissants are light and buttery - not dense as the ones you could get at Brumbys (ugh) or elsewhere. If we have visitors, I like to get a cake from here - the macadamia and berry is nice. The quiches are quite delicious too and good option for takeaway dinner as they come in different sizes.
A great practice with excellent GPs. The three founding GPs (Angela Rutherford, Hubert Van Doorn and Miranda Sandars) have great empathy with patients and are also very good with children. The practice is certified and also participates in training medical students - which further demonstrates its credentials.
Approximate cost: $55
Excellent dentist with great rapport with children - the only dentist I have seen with kids drawings plastered all over his wall! They have also recently renovated their waiting room so it is now quite bright and airy.
