10 reviews about Rhodes General Practice

I had attended a few medical practices close to where I work (Parramatta) as I had been loosing weight, unable to sleep and just feeling unwell. One doctor wanted to put me on tablets and I refused. I then went to Rhodes medical practice and met a very helpful doctor (Dr Ong) who told me that I have depression. She referred me to their psychologist (Sonia). I saw her over 10 months and am now well and managing. I will definitely recommend the place. The doctors are good and competent, the staff are friendly and the psychologist is fantastic. The doctors bulk bill but there is an out of pocket gap for the psychologist - it is worth every cent.

My past few experiences at Rhodes Medical Centre is beyond poor. I always make my appointments and arrive on time, however, every time, I am forced to wait for 30mins to an hour just to pick up some results which took less than 2 minutes. The receptionists always take walk in bookings and never prioritise the people who actually booked. They want to squeeze in as many patients as possible and then rush through them. I feel frustrated after I leave the medical centre as I have just wasted an hour for a greedy practice!

The Rhodes General Pratice is a Mix billing clinic, most of the appointments are bulk billed, however some are privately charged, which include antenatal care, pap smears and workcover, travel medicine and also if you are not an Australian resident you will pay for your consult no matter where you go. Very professional doctors and staff , my children love going there. I would make the suggestion to others before you write a negative comment about this practice that you tell the truth about your visit. I was shocked to read such bad comments about a clinic that not only my family attends but also friends. And we all love it.

Rhodes General Practice is one of the worst practices I have ever been too. Not only did I find it difficult to find the practice, but when there the doctors were rude and unhelpful. Having to pay on-top of Medicare for the reasons for which I went, being that I only required a short consult was ridiculous. I don't go to Rhodes General Practice anymore

This practice is nice, very clean and professional, the doctors are very friendly. It is also good because it's bulk billed, however if you don't have medicare then it is very very expensive.

If you have Medicare, they are fabulous, it is bulk billed! The staff are always polite and make the whole experience easy. They do tend to run late though which can be frustrating, but once with the doctor they are great. The nurse is fantastic too, giving my baby his injections she took the time to make sure everyone was ok in the situation. Definitely recommend this practice.

This practice is in a nice, clean environment which is appealing. The staff are friendly and courteous, however the fees charged for a general service are very steep. I think $60 for a 5 minute consultation is ridiculous.
One example: I was feeling some pain in my eye and went to see one of the doctors there. All he did was make me read the Letters Chart on the wall, then told me to go see an optometrist and come back to him later if they couldn't find anything. $60 to read an eye chart? That is robbery. If you don't have Medicare, do not go to this Practice.

Excellent service provided by the doctor i seen Dr Tracey Ong, explained all that i needed know, and was very good with her care and bed side manner was outstanding. I did pay for the consultation and might add that i was happy and more than willing to pay for such a lovely visit to a gp. Reception staff were excellent especially Joanne with such a proffesional manner. I would return to this clinic any time. The cost of the consult was 60.00 and i recieved 32.40 back from medicare. One very happy patient

Some doctors are quite professional but some are not very experienced. Waiting time is quite long even with appointment.

A group of up-to-date younger GPs. The ones I've met are enthusiatic, friendly and competent. Pleasant and helpful. The only negative is that they are under-staffed and therefore opening hours are short. Sometimes the wait can be long. Need an appointment or you'll be waiting for ages.
