This walk-in aviary is privately owned, and this 1000 squared meter haven of birds is home to over 550 different birds including parrots, finches, doves, & more. A great place to come and witness nature in all its beauty - the birds are obviously very happy and well cared for. It's exciting when the birds come and land on your hands and arms looking for food or a just inquisitive. This is one place that is a must-see if you're ever in Canberra! $11 for an adult, $34 for a family (2 kids & 2 adults).
Approximate cost: $11
One of our favourite surf shops to wander through whenever we're in Nowra. Love their surf accessories & they stock most of the major brands.
Mollymook Beach Surf School services Mollymook and locations within 30 kms. We only had one lesson with them and enjoyed it. The instructor was friendly and was happy to answer any questions we had. In no time he had us in the water and surfing (well, trying to!).
Lots of different range of women's fashion, stocks sizes 8-28, and designer samples & stock. New owners took over earlier this year. They have a wide range of day and evening wear.
They have a wide and varied choice of small through to extra large bonsai from three to forty years of age and a magnificent choice of quality pot and field grown bonsai. They also stock a wide frange of Joshua Roth tools and accessories.
Angler's Rest waterfront accommodation is located at the tip of Greenwell Point. As well as being family owned they are also pet friendly, the cabins have a gated deck for your dog which is terrific. Obviously dogs aren't allowed on the furniture but they are allowed inside, which is fantastic because most accommodation places don't allow dogs inside. I stayed in a self contained cabin and had a beautiful view and found it extremely peacful – the perfect place to relax and unwind.
Elsie has a really lovely range of hand-created bowls, platters, plates, & mugs. She will happily personalize or custom design her creations for yourself, or to give as the perfect gift for family & friends. Each item is formed on the potter's wheel, and the handmade terracotta pottery are lead-free & dishwasher/microwave oven safe.
A great surf shop in Huskisson, always stocked with a huge range of the latest mens' and ladies' fashions by brands such as Billabong, Roxy, Rip Curl, Rusty, and more. They carry many surfboards including soft boards for beginners through to short boards for the more experienced surfer. They have a great range of surf accessories, watches, shoes, sunnies, etc.
After looking around Canberra for some dance schools, I decided to try Danzon. They have a range of different dancing classes, including a Sunday Social from 3-6pm, where the first lesson is Beginner, then Intermediate (although it follows on from the Beginner lesson so it's not hard at all), then just social dancing to practice what you've learnt. The teachers are all great – we had Dave & Shane, and they broke the steps down right back to the basics and showed us the correct technique as well. They also have a number of group lessons, Beginner lessons are on Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:45pm and are $15, the Sunday dancing (for the whole 3 hours) is $15 too. It's a friendly atmostphere where it doesn't matter if you make a mistake. Everyone is incredibly nice and if you don't understand something the teachers will practice it with you until you get it.
Approximate cost: $15 per group lesson
This comic shop stocks practically any comic you are after! They do back-orders as well so you never miss out on your collections. They get new releases in all the time and the staff are only too happy to find whatever you are after. Great range of comics, collectables, etc.
