1 review about Sheen Panel Service

Average, almost disappointing. Earlier this year I was rear-ended by another car. I had heard all the Sheen Panel Service (doo da doo doo doo doo) ads on the radio and upon reading good reviews for other Sheen Panel Service shops in other suburbs I thought this would hopefully also be a good experience. The initial drop off was easy, I had the other driver's details so it was mainly just drop off the car, fill in a form and away I go with the free loan car. When I went to pick up my car, I mistakenly just did a quick once over check as I was in a hurry. Later that day when I could have a better look at my car, I noticed that the entire back of a large panel had a very nasty splotchy white line where it joins another panel. My car is black, so a splotchy white line is UNACCEPTABLE. Not sure why they thought that was even remotely acceptable, as it was very splotchy and approx 5mm in height and running horizontally along the back panel.

Other faults included installing the boot handle upside down, which allowed no grip whatsoever when pulling to close the boot door down. Not sure why they didn't know how to install that back on properly, was this the first time they had replaced a boot handle?! They also failed to replace the license plate holder, which meant that my car license plates were 'naked'. A small thing, but I find the exposed edges of the white border among my black car very ugly. Again a small thing, but I expect the car to be presented back to me the way it was before the crash happened and it's disappointing that they missed small details like that.

When I returned to them and presented them with these faults, they happily fixed them and provided me with a free loan car for the few hours, but it was disappointing to have to go back to them a second time because that is time wasted. It was especially disappointing because they're a large company and I expected better.

I do have one positive thing to say about Sheen Bulleen though. I asked them to repair the panel at the front of my car near the wheel, that I had accidentally damaged years ago. The quotation was fairly cheap and they did a good job on it, albeit they didn't screw on the light bulb properly and the beam was slightly diagonal but that can be fixed easily. They also give you a goodie bag but it just contains a small box of Cadbury Roses and some Sheen Panel Service branded stuff like pens, tissues and foam toy car. I don't think the box of chocolates were worth the issues I encountered though and would choose to go to another panel beater within the immediate vicinity instead, there's one almost directly behind Sheen in the industrial looking road and another across Manningham Rd.
