Views from the cable car were spectacular, really peaceful just cruising above the treetops. Kuranda itself was disappointing, expensive and commercial, but still worth a visit for the ride on the Skyrail.

Wow! This place is amazing. It's awesome being able to float along above the trees and take in the beautiful scenery. There are 2 stops where you can get off and go for a walk along the boardwalk to lookouts and take photos. A one way trip takes 1.5 hours. You can pay extra for a gondola with a glass bottom or an open one which you stand up in. The view as you go down the mountain into Smithfield is amazing, you can see for miles. This is definitely a must do on any holiday to Cairns.

We got the train on way down to cairns,after going up on the sky rail,and I wish I had of gone back on the sky rail.the train was hot and poky and slow,it was extremely packed as it was school holidays as well as many tourists,as can be expected in cairns.the view is nice,but you can't see as much as you"d like,and only stop to take pics the once.no food on board either,so make sure you eat before you go,as we did in Miranda itself.a good trip all n all,but I wouldn't go again.
