5 reviews about Kingston Family Clinic

Have also been going to this clinic since 2012 and even though I’ve found the staff on the service desk extremely rude persisted as my doctor was caring and worth putting up with desk staff rudeness.
When Covid hit I found it so difficult to get to see a doctor I didn’t bother.
When I decided to get my 1st Covid shot there in September the nurse administering them left a huge purple bruise and lump on my arm and when I returned was told it was nothing to worry about.
I then decided to have a check up last month and copped another rude staff member even questioning the quality of my
KN95 mask (even though the doctor I saw was not wearing a mask at all) and was informed that my doctor had retired and I would be put on a list to see a relief doctor. The least the clinic could have done was inform all that retiring doctors patients and assign them another permanent doctor.
The clinic need to remember that they are like all retail businesses and customers will not return if the service less than one would expect.

I wish I could give zero stars.

I've been going to this clinic since Feb/March 2016 now. I have had an appointment at least every 4 weeks & often in between, Ive always had the same Dr.

Ive seen Angela Moran this whole time except once when she was on leave. Unfortunately since July my mental health has taken a serious decline. Ive had a number of admissions to mental health units & overnight stays in ED & as a result had missed a couple of appointments or cancelled with short notice. Some Ive made contact myself some the staff in ED or the mental health ward. So instead of discussing anything with me, asking if things were going OK, was there anything they could do to support me, I ring up when once again in the ED to say Im supposed to have a appointment that day with my Dr I need to cancel it only to be told no I dont, that it was cancelled my Dr will no longer be seeing me since I had missed a few appointments. I had two appointments I attended the month before & nothing was said to me at either of these appointments.

So despite religiously attending all of my appointments that were actually at the same time slot for the last nearly 3yrs, because I have a really rough patch with my PTSD & some of the appointment I believed that the nurses had cancelled for me as they said they would for me, I try to explain this I am refused communication with the Dr, any further appointments, originally offered to see any other Dr's in the clinic, but then all of a sudden none of them are taking new clients. I made the practice manager & reception staff aware several times that if I wasn't able to see my Dr, another Dr, or them print me scripts that I would be left without medications & I was about to run out of them. I told them what those medications were, several times. They actually have a legal responsibility to ensure that Im not left in a dangerous health situation because my medications have run out.

When I found another clinic who would see me on short notice I asked for them to fax a health summary & current medication list to the new clinic (they said they would - and are legally required to provide) the new clinic was receiving other faxes, I tried contacting them again the practice manager ended the call hanging up on me in frustration because I rang back 3 times asking them to follow through with what they agreed on. My carer then tried calling to get it faxed & the reception staff at the new clinic called. I ended up having to get another appointment in 3 days hoping they would actually fax it by this time which of course they hadn't. Funnily enough when my new Dr gets on the phone & explains that they are actually not meeting their Dr-Patient obligations & the whole way that this situation has been handled is far from OK, their fax machine magically starts working & documents start coming through just after he gets off the phone to them that hadn't been coming through for 3 days despite repeated requests.

Feeling really really let down, abandoned & don't understand. Angela knows what has happened to trigger such significant decline in my PTSD & the last time I saw her said any time you need to see me just ring up & say you need to get in I will see you, even if you need a chat. I will be here for you. Then suddenly for whatever reason turns her back on me. I'm so confused & just don't understand. Apart from the whole leaving me without any support to find another Dr to manage my other chronic health conditions, provide scripts for my medications that I cannot suddenly stop, I feel like the whole situation has been handled so unprofessionally & so inadequately & now I'm about to run out of my medications & still searching for a Dr who is able to take me on at such short notice.

Total disgrace. Never expected this from here. Previously had a 5 star review, with some suggestions for improvement on some aspects of the service, but this last month has been a nightmare & completely unprofessional, the practice manager has been really rude to deal with on the phone. This is far from OK.

This medical practice, does not treat people with severe disabilities, was told their books were full, friend of mine who is totally able bodied was able to register as a new patient 2 days later,The reception staff were friendly at first, until they found out I was wheelchair bound, was then told they were unable to assist me, they became aggressive when I asked them about the ethicalities of refusing medical treatment to a person with high care needs, they said their doctors are not trained to treat people with severe disabilities, feeling very neglected and discriminated against.

That's terrible, I'm sorry to hear they treated you that way.

That is appalling treatment. If I were you, I would be contacting the relevant government authorities, as well as Today Tonight, and telling them of this. It is inexcusable to treat a person like this.

That's disgraceful and I'm sure actually breaks many antidiscrimination laws

My family have gone here for years. If we can't get into our usual gp, I am happy to see anyone there. The nursing staff are great and the whole clinic is ver caring

Richard Johns and the team at this clinic are exceptionally good at what they do, they are compassionate and caring and always (almost) running on time
