I am an Australian and my girlfriend is a chinese. I walked in here yesterday with my girlfriend. I was walking in front of my girlfriend. As soon as we had passed the door. A girl from behind the counter looked past me to my girlfriend and spoke in Chinese. And that was how it was the whole time I was there. I was ignored by the staff and not a word of english was heard by anyone in the restaurant! I do not know if the staff are even able to speak any english!!

I was insulted by their service.
Their chairs are just three blocks of wood glued together and there is no backing to the chairs. I felt very uncomfortable and my shoulders began to hurt.
They had green zone on a TV but without volume and only chinese subtitles. It didn't matter though, it was obviously only for the workers entertainment because they changed the movie half way through and played with the volume (still inaudible).

We ordered something like a beef and potato stew, as well as a minced pork with eggplant dish and of course steamed rice. I didn't enjoy any of it and ate very little. The beef and potato stew was still edible to me. This cost us $34. The only positive I could say is their portions are decent but they charge more for a chinese fast food place. Oh yeah, despite being just one of two couples in the restaurant, the food took a long time to prepare.

I would recommend this restaurant to no one and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with a pulse and/or breath!

EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention in my review earlier was that I could hear a male cook in the kitchen very loudly sneezing every few minutes! I couldn't believe he still went in to work! Unfortunately (or fortunately) for me the sneezing didn't start until after I had received the food, otherwise I would have just walked out. Which I still regret not doing.

Approximate cost: $17

Thanks for the review - it helps to know which restaurants to avoid as well as which ones to go to. Won't be going here!

For the people who were looking for a nice Chinese restaurant in the city, check out my review for Go-In Hotpot Train on Hindley St. That's the best Chinese place I've been to date! Worth a visit (for small groups)

Nice clean and fast takeaway food. Staff are always happy even though they're usually pretty busy. Car parking is difficult so it's best to phone to order then have someone else drive past while you duck in.

Approximate cost: $14.00
