I was six months pregnant when i went to HQ for my birthday. As they no longer served what i wanted i ordered a steak well done, no blood as i can not have bloody food while pregnant. When i received it there was blood in it. I asked for them to throw it back on just for a few seconds to get rid of the blood and received a dirty look and a comment about how his wife ate blue steak why cant i just eat it as is. When i explained that i could not eat anything with blood still seeping from it he took it back and got them to cook it soo much that it was black and dry. He plonked it down in front of me and said enjoy your steak although i doubt you will.

We went here for dinner last week and were very impressed with our meals. Our son was also entertained with a colouring in competition to do while we were waiting for our meals. The play area is also lovely and clean with some fantastic toys with our children to play with. Our meals were great and large and value for money and the kids meals are well thought out as well. Our son wanted to have spaghetti bolognaisse for dinner. There was just enough sauce in the mince for him not to spill it all over himself. Well Done and we will be coming to dine here again.

Approximate cost: $25.00

Can't say anything bad about this place. We go every fortnight, it's our treat. It's just so nice to have decent sized plates with a decent food serving. And can their chips be any more fresher and crunchier ??? I think it was the old Kuraby but got a whole new fit out. I even had one time when I ordered 4 meals but only 3 came out. Somehow, my meal didn't make it to the chef so the manager came out and apologised so many times and got the chef to attack my meal ASAP. I received it 3 minutes later with the manager saying sorry again and gave it to me on the house. And at lunch time, the manager is always coming over, having a chat. Same with the girls, always having a laugh. I don't like robotic waitresses who only come to work for money with no passion in their job ... Great atmosphere

Hotel HQ is a decent local place to eat.
I had never been there before December last year when a volunteer group I would with recommended it for our end of year Christmas dinner, because it was close and easy to get it.
We agreed on it because there was an abundance of shop-a-dockets for buy one get one free mail meal so went there.
It is a nice place, fairly run of the mill for hotel, pub style dining. The meals are really quite large and absolutely filling, and with vouchers and the like are definitely reasonably priced.
It is kind of big with a few rooms though, so if you are meeting people do so outside perhaps, or you run around for 10 minutes lost trying to find them, while they laugh at you from inside rather than helping you. Lol.

Hotel HQ used to be the old Kuraby hotel...& what a difference they have made. Live bands & Karoke, lunch time meals are perfect, with a coldie & very well priced as well. Only one neg, when it's nightime, they should screen the eating area off to the normal bar, apart from that, great place

We have been here a few times for dinner during the week - good quality pub style food with a great dessert menu. The garlic bread pizza entree is one of the best I have had and very cheap. Prices are average but they do nightly specials - Thursday is the best in my opinion where you but the second meal for $5.00

Approximate cost: $18-$25
