I tried to book accommodation with the Holiday Property Team, and it took almost a week of constant ringing to finally be left disappointed.
After searching their Holiday Properties Website with availability for the dates I required I requested prices for a couple of properties. In the automatic response emails I was told that we would hear from them within 24 hours. After 2 days of hearing absolutely nothing regarding any of the properties, we decided to phone Harcourts direct and find out what is happening. When I got hold of the manager he told me that he would get his assistant to email me with what is available when she gets in at 9am. Let's just say I kept hitting refresh on the email and never got that email. at 4 pm that day I rang to see what was happening and the assistant had no idea what I was talking about. In between this time I decided to put in a Booking Request for one of the properties that were available. When I finally did talk to the assistant she told me she would email me straight away the price and go from there...50 minutes later (4.50pm) the email comes through with no confirmation and half the price and telling me that manager will be in on saturday and will chase up with the owners. I send back asking if that means we can have the property and I hear nothing back....until Tuesday when I ring AGAIN to chase them up. At this point I was told that the owners weren't sure whether they wanted to rent the property for this period or use it for themselves.
By this point I am quite upset at how stressful this process has been. Thankfully Toop and Toop had responded immidately with another property and we had to secure that property. After being on the phone with Harcourts again I was told they would just up another property and get back to me straight away as I had to give confirmation with Toop and Toop within half an hour. Well after 40 minutes, I call harcourts again and they tell me that nothing is available basically, even though they are available on their website.
I have never had such problems bookign accommodation and I think that the whole team at Harcourts South Coast need to look after their customers much better. We still haven't had responses regarding some properties. Obviously they do not care much about their clients and as for the landlords of the properties I think that they should know in advance if they are going to use their properties. It shouldn't be up to the Agents to have to chase them.
