after having frequented this restaurant for special occasions, i have always found this to a wonderful venue. The last visit however, was far below normal standards. Portion sizes had shrunk dramatically, service had gone downhill, while prices had gone up. Due to previous experiences i will still return in case these issues were a once off (prices i assume will still be high). But whenever you leave a restaurant of that quality and feel the need to get takeout on the way home something has gone horribly wrong.

even though the weather gets a little chilly in melbourne, it is still wonderful to be able to sit on the footpath of bourke street and be delivered the most beautiful italian food, with excellent wine with which to wash it down and fabulous service that makes you feel like you really are worth it!

Amazing simplistic food. We regularly go to the outdoor restaurant that serves the pastas. The hand-made pumpkin tortellini with the roasted sage is to die for, I ask for the same dish over and over again. It is also great value for money for the pasta dishes. Excellent service.

I went their in February this year for a very special occassion it turned out to be a nightmare. The service when it came they could not get it right, I had orderd quail for an entree, when it arrived it was raw, by the time a waiter came to our request my partner had already finished his entree, I was told they could get me another one, but as I had pointed my partner had already finished his. I also had ordered a steak for a main, I again asked the waiter if they can cook the steak well done, and was asured that is OK. when it arrived the steak was just about blue, again I waited for the waiter and explained the reason that I could not eat this, as I had requested a well done steak. Again I was asked if I wanted to wait and other will be done. I had to go through the same process as before that my partner had finished his meal, and I did not wwant to be having dinner on my own. Mr Grossi came to the table and asked what the problem was, he suggested another meal, again I had to same the same to him. I was told by him, would I like a free cup of coffee as their was no way I was going to be pleased. I have been going to the best fine dining restaurants for years, but I have never experienced anything like that in my life.
