Amanda continues to gain respect from her peers (throughout Australia and internationally) for her ability to organise, promote, and conduct auctions at times of extreme difficulty, (be it contents, location, or private vendor circumstances).
Her ongoing "hands on approach" and empathy with people in times of distress and bereavement has gained her respect with her vendor/s who continue to benefit from her dedication and personal input. Apart from coordinating auctions, Amanda also coordinates appraisals, and conducts auctions.
Amanda has taken great care is procuring the services of individuals who are fluid in their field e.g. bookkeeping, data input, furniture handlers, sales assistants, auction room staff, security etc.
Amanda also regularly writes for various collecting publications and has appeared on numerous occasions both on television and radio.
David Freeman
Chief Executive Officer Amanda Addams Auctions
A highly qualified valuer and auctioneer with twenty years experience as a professional valuer. David is a member of the Auctioneers and Valuers Associations of Australia (A.V.A.A.). The Victorian Antique Dealers Guild, Government Approved valuer for the cultural gifts and bequests program (Australian paintings, drawings and prints, after 1850), David is also a member of The Victorian Artists Society, Watercolour Society of Australia, Gallery Society of Victoria, Museum of Modern Art (Heide), Australiana Society, National Trust of Victoria, Society Art Deco Victoria, The Antique Collectors Club of Victoria. David often talks on radio (re- valuation).
David regularly writes valuation columns for various collecting magazines and related publications, he also conducts free antique talks and valuations for various charitable groups. In addition, he is in constant demand for his knowledge as a valuer.
Amanda and David are strong supporters of The Anti Cancer Council of Victoria.
Valuations
David Freeman Antique Valuations delivers expert valuations, on time, every time, all at extremely competitive rates. Whether you require valuations for Insurance, Market, Family Law, Company Divisions or Deceased Estates. David Freeman can help you with experience, total confidentiality and personal service. David Freeman can also advise you on Purchasing, Disposal Placement and Restoration Services.
David Freeman is a Government approved valuer under the Cultural Gifts Program for Australian paintings and prints after 1850. We can also supply you with excellent references from some of our many satisfied clients, if required.
Insurance valuations: Retail replacement values
Market valuations: Probate, Deceased Estate, Bankruptcy, liquidation, and receivership (current disposal values).
Family Law: Matrimonial division
Consultation: Restoration, purchase, family distribution, sale, and or disposal.
Great care is taken in valuing and compiling valuations; we have an extensive library with all the latest books, publications and price record's as well as a network of other valuers who are expert in their field (i.e.: jewellery).
Fees apply for all valuations and consultations
Fee rate is charged on an hourly basis, currently $198 per hour (includes GST),
Travel charges apply to country and interstate valuations, and are calculated per kilometre.
Administrative charges such as typing, compiling, mailing, and affidavits are also charged on an hourly basis.
Valuations may also be carried out via the Internet and by photographs.
Free appraisals are usually conducted on Thursdays between 3pm - 7pm in the Amanda Addams Auction Rooms at 344 High Street, Kew.
All valuations are professional service and are conducted by appointment be it in your home, place of work or in our rooms.

If all goods are placed for auction with Amanda Addams Auctions within a 12 month period you may be eligible for a valuation fee refund..
Auctions

A contract (consignment) is entered into between the vendor (or his/her representative) and Amanda Addams Auctions.

All goods are inspected and valued, in writing.

A market estimate is established and if required any reserve applied.

An inventory is prepared; all items are marked with a number to correspond with inventory (for identification).

All goods are thoroughly researched and placed to maximise their sale potential.

Full cataloguing is carried out (refer to enclosed catalogue's)

Each and every auction is individual and is marketed accordingly, however every auction is advertised in the following: The Age Newspaper, Collectormania, Collectables Trader, and relevant newspapers as well as our Substantial mailing list, which is constantly updated for maximum patronage of genuine buyer's. The processing of accounts complies with the "Amanda Addams conditions of Sale" all accounts are settled not before fourteen day's but before thirty day's.
Pre Sale Advice
Undertaking:
Amanda Addams Auctions always undertake to represent the vendor to the highest level.
Marketing:
We have an extensive mailing list and these clients attend our Auctions on a regular basis. This list is constantly updated for maximum attendance.
Amanda Addams Auctions advertises in the “The Ageâ€ï¿½ newspaper, local newspapers, trade magazines and other relevant collecting media. Also large notice boards and letter box drops.
The goods at the Auction House are always displayed in a decorative fashion, maximizing their sale potential.
There are three separate viewings (three days) with extensive viewing times.
During viewing a large number of people attend and view, they range from dealers, collectors to locals as well as interstate and overseas buyers.
It is in the interest of Amanda Addams Auctions to procure the highest possible hammer price for any one item, we have a (98% auction sale rate).
It is imperative to have fresh stock for every auction, we do not re - auction.
Estimates:
Amanda Addams Auctions estimate a realistic selling price based on many years experience. This estimate may vary slightly higher or lower.
Reserves:
It is the vendors responsibility to * place any reserves, *notify Amanda Addams Auctions of any discretion you wish the auctioneer to use.
This must be done seven days prior to auction in writing. If a reserve is too high, Amanda Addams Auctions may contact the vendor and suggest that a reserve be lowered.
Note:
A low or no reserve often attracts a larger number of bidders.
All items will be auctioned and any costs will be deducted from the proceeds of the sale as per your consigned “Consignment Agreementâ€ï¿½ form.
Vendor Etiquette at Auction:
When vendors attend viewing and auction, it is most advisable that they remain discreet.
*If there is a need to speak to a staff member, arrange for a suitable time and place.
*Do not discuss private issues with the public or within earshot of the public.
*Do not disrupt the Auction process in any way; there are other vendors to consider also.
Finally:
If you are not clear or satisfied with any issue please give us the opportunity to clarify prior to viewing.
