The steak they do is good in size however the quality is not that satisfying cus a big part of the steak is actually fat, however my favourite meal is avocado chicken snitchel which is quite nice and filling.

I try to go on a weekly bases for a coffee after dropping off the children at school.
The staff have tables ready for us and the coffee is always great.
The quality of food is high (especially the cinnamon toast) and great value.

Talk about big meals Excellent value for money. To much to eat in one sitting. One meal would suit 2 people. Great meals. Would highly recomend them to any one.

Approximate cost: $26.50

The food is great and the staff are friendly. Meal sizes are big, bigger and biggest so you'll never walk away feeling hungry! But don't worry. If you can't finish your meal, you can always get a take away container!

These people are the original owners of the famous Central Cafe in Queanbeyan. The place is famous for it's huge country-style meals. The Mix Grill and Lemon Chicken being the most popular. The old Central (now sold and is still doing great) got lots of publicity and became a major attraction of the area, with celebrities and radio shows visiting. During the fires that went on in Canberra a while back- the Central looked after the fire- fighters and volunteers, providing them with all their lunches and dinners for less than half the cost. I know- cos I lived there at the time, and went there quite often.
Last year they sold the place and now have a new Central Cafe in Gungahlin. Still HUGE meals, still great value, taste and hopefully service as good as it was in Queanbeyan (they are apparently having just started out there are having trouble getting enough great staff in). A beautiful new place and still as bisy! I went there and all the staff there at the time were family members, because they were short staffed. Whenever I come down to Canberra (I live in Melbourne), I always visit them and the owners, Phil and Vic already know me. They always say hello!

Approximate cost: $18-22
