Only giving 1 star cause I can’t give none.
Shaun at the Essendon branch ain’t to bad but the owner who works out of Canterbury called Joe is a real masterpiece when it comes to telling stories .
Took my E92 to them cause it would not start I first put a new battery in it but still could not start .
After trying so many times the steering lock warning came on and that was it .
Took it to BM Tech after checking it out I was sold the CAS was going and they could replace with second hand one for $1800 .
Okay picked the car up one day later exactly same problem took it back this time told it was the IBS so replaced that another $1350 .
Spoke to Joe and said are we sure that the CAS was damaged in the first place he obviously said completed different problem .
3 days later took my car to I guy who actually does work for BM tech to check my stereo out and we were chatting about what happened to my car and he was surprised that the CAS was changed cause he explained that all that had to be done was to enter a code and clear the steering lock warning . He said my problem was the IBS from the beginning.
After explaining this to Joe that they may have Accidentally mis diagnosed my car he simply said no way he could not accept any fault what’s so ever and then started telling me that I proper damaged it myself by putting some jump starter on it which I never did .
He is arrogant and rude and I can’t believe his behaviour.
I have been there a few times so I wonder how many times I have been mis quoted .
I will never go there again or recommend anyone else .
Please be aware .

Owned 2002 318i with only 120k which eventually cost over $7000 in repairs thru BMTech over 2 years. Car was always serviced through here. Each time I was told car was a "good car" yet every 2-3 months it was back getting another major repair. Point of note.. car only travelled less than 13000 klms in the 2 years. Car was given back at last service with what I thought was a bit of an unusual noise coming from the engine.....trusting that they did their job properly, I just left it (to my peril) and it again broke down due to the fan belt pulleys (which I found out later emitted the noise) had seized and another repair bill of $800 was called for! Decided to sell car after all this to save my relationshio as i was abiut to br divorced if i kept spending money on this car! When I asked them to do roadworthy cert, guess what? Another $800 bill for new pipes for the front brakes (which had been replaced less than 6 months earlier!) And new rear brakes. Why these hoses were not replaced when the front brakes were done is beyond me. It seems that they know how to charge and make sure that you keep coming back to them. Don't get me wrong.. the staff are polite and nice.. just that I am glad I don't have to deal with them anymore and keep putting my hand into my pockets to find more cash every few months.

Approximate cost: $7000

Took my car for an oil service recently
Good timing - car was ready by in the early afternoon.
Downside :1. The courtesy car was a very old car and was dirty inside - lots of rubbish/paper/dirt, had to pay $29 for the insurance
2. Without my permission, the original rear plate casing I had was replaced by one advertising www.BMTech.com.au

Approximate cost: $450

Took my newly acquired 320i E36 to BMtech after I discovered it was leaking coolant from one of the hoses. Within a few hours they called me back to inform me the radiator had to go as well as the thermostat, hoses, etc, and that I was looking at about $1100 for parts plus labor. Had the work done, and they were willing to store the car for a week while I found the cash (which was nice, I suppose).

The good: They know their stuff, good source of knowledge, quality repairs and from what I've heard very quick even on short notice.

The bad: Pricey (although probably better then the dealer)

Conclusion: If you cant afford the servicing you cant afford the car... hence why I try and do majority of the work myself now. There are cheaper indepentdant BMW mechanics in Melbourne though 7.5/10

Approximate cost: $1100

As the name suggests they pretty much only service BMWs - which is good because it generally means they are passionate about them. Car always gets a clean after it has been there too, which is good cause I don't clean it enough! On the whole very happy with their service. I have not had much go wrong on my car, and only potential complaint is that they fixed the clutch slave cylinder about 4 years ago and it died again about a month ago - I would not expect to have the same problem so soon. I was in Sydney at the time, so I didn't take it back to them.
