WOMOW stands for word of mouth on the web. It's where people's opinions help you find the best businesses, and avoid the worst.

Traditional directories let you find businesses - but how do you know if they're any good?  The businesses that pay the most are the most prominent but this tells you nothing about their service.

We believe good businesses should be rewarded and WOMOW helps them by amplifying their word-of-mouth reputation. And if businesses are providing poor service, well we believe people should know about this so that they can choose other alternatives.

Great website! Since I found the site I've been back time and again to review local business listings. I've never been sent loads of spam - just great offers like the recent chance to win an iPad. I've got nothing bad to say about WOMOW!

Hehe....awesome that there's a review for the review site :) find it funny. But i think this is an awesome idea as it lets me vent when i have a bad experience and praise the businesses of my good experiences. I think if more real people used it, the owners of the businesses themselves will see no point in publishing their own reviews as the truth will come out from actual customer reviews :)

I use this site a lot in the past and I used to recommend for all my friends. But lately I noticed some businesses have amazingly good reviews. Me, being skeptical, trying to find clues to see if the reviews are real. Seems like, all the reviews are being written by the same person with multiple accounts. This is based on the date they join and the number of reviews they make and their trustfactor. Also, they seemed to in the same style. So I posted a review to warn others. But WOMOW ignored me, deducted my trustfactor, and continued to let all the fake reviews stay all over its site. Now I cannot trust WOMOW anymore. WOMOW doesn't care for its users anymore. So disappointed.

Hi DonKingZ - I'm sorry to hear that you're doubting some of the reviews on WOMOW as the integrity of these is of utmost importance to us. As I said in the email to you, some businesses do actively encourage their customers to rate them on WOMOW - which explains why they might have a lot of ratings from people that have just joined WOMOW. Also as they've only rated one business, often their TrustFactor will be the same as well. Behind the scenes, we have a number of automated checks that we do to ensure each rating is from a unique individual. In this case, we've also manually checked the business you're referring to and find nothing to suggest that any of the reviews are inappropriate. Hi DonKingz, have you also thought that maybe there was a womow promotion running at the time and these people all joined at around the same time??? I originally joined from rewards central to get points....but am now addicted to womow. So initially I only had a few reviews and my trust factor was low. Just a thought..hope you don't loose faith in the site :)

I am a new member to this site. Looks O.K.It is a very informative website to find information on various small service businesses.It would be nice if the businesses could also give any comments regarding their ratings,especially for negative comments.

Reading other people's saved us from making a *very* costly mistake in choosing a builder! Since then, I come here to check and rate lots of local businesses - such a great service! I just wish more people knew about it and used it! Power to the people!
