We were delighted with the result of our balcony-over-alfresco living space. Our existing 20yo deck was too small and too exposed, with the balcony overhead causing weatherproofing issues downstairs. Mr Verandah demolished the balcony and roofing and rebuilt it the way it should have been done the first time. The result is an inviting, practical, all-weather space that we are getting much more use from already.

The lead-up to this project took several years, with builders and designers rejecting the job (too small), failing to show for a quote, failing to provide a quote after showing up, failing to listen to our needs, or charging for work either not agreed or not delivered. Mr Verandah showed up as promised and delivered a design and quote that reflected everything we'd mutually agreed when we met.

Chris was crystal clear throughout the design refinement and signing and made sure we understood everything.

The team of Cooper and Mason were hardworking, courteous, and respectful of the property, protecting our trees and piling rubble out of the way. At the end of each work day, we still had optimal use of the back yard. At our instruction, they made practical re-use of the old timber, taking care to blend old and new where they could. Mr V's sub-contracted trades (plaster, electrical, painting) were equally good and worked conflict-free around each other.

Unlike some our previous building experiences, Mr Verandah were spot-on with their definition of 'done', which is not just when the building work is approved, but when the site is clean and the client is happy. There were many little things they just fixed, which we might not have even noticed. Mason put in so much overtime cleaning the site, touching up, and finishing the small things so we would have full use of the space for Easter.

The reference clients we spoke to before we signed were delighted with their spaces, and so are we. No regrets.

We downsized into a smaller place with awkwardly different levels and an unusable outdoor area. We called Mr. Verandah and they designed a streamlined deck and pergola that made everything one level and still let enough light into our home. They took care of everything, including getting approval from our difficult Council, to a fast and professional finish. Cooper and Mason were terrific, nothing was a problem. A delight from start to finish, and so pleased with the final result.

Very proud of my Alfreco area built by Mr Verandah. Very professional and polite team to work with. We faced some minor hiccups throughout the build that were quickly resolved by Mason, the builder. A very professional job from the planning to completion of my carport. Both Chris and the guys who did the build were helpful and courteous. I guess you pay for good work but at $18,000 without painting, a bit pricey.
