I had a great experience eating here. It was nice to feel like i was back in the states. The food was Amazing and the taste was so out there. I can honestly say it is really like an American diner experience. I had the taco salad and it was amazing. the taste and flavor that came out was incredible. I will be back there again. Just to feel like im back home.

I have never had any problems with the service. I quite like the fact they all seem to be genuine Americans. I'm not sure how the shop operates, but maybe she has different, rotating travelers, explaining the varied service people have received.

I like the space, tho it can seem a little cluttered, it'll keep you interested, and entertained, even without the small screens at the end of each booth.

I have eaten here on three occasions now, and I must say, after my initial excitement of eating 'that American food', my satisfaction with the food has dropped. I love the milkshakes, and would defiantly recommend the white chocolate and Oreo one. But the food itself, once you get over the initial amazement of having something, like, taco's on fries, it fails to overwhelm. It is good, don't get me wrong, but it lacks, something...The flavors are either too bland, too predictable (you could go to another burger joint, not the golden arches one, and receive something tasting almost identical for half the price), or too over the top. To go back to my previous example, the taco fries, the flavour of the topping is so strong, it overpowers the chips, making the concept, somewhat unfinished. It's tacos without the shell. The 'Carb Coma platter' is good, the cheesy bites a wicked treat.

The menu is large, and somewhat difficult to follow, with all the added pages of long lists of either new ideas, or things that just seem to fit in other area's. While she must be commended for her amazing idea's, perhaps re-orginising and re-ordering items would help.

Misty herself, as has been said, is a wonderfull charecter. The fact the person the place owes it's name too is always present, and makes an effort to speak to people, is commenable. She really does work to make us happy.

I plan to return again within the next week, taking some of my friends for their first taste. I cannot wait to see how the renovations are going, and seeing if my fourth try, and a new item to taste leaves me with the satifaction I first had when it was all new and exciting.

went out for dinner, expected it to be really good. it was 50/50. disappointed that the burgers don't come with fries like a regular meal would. :( maybe might go back, but not too soon. sorry misty's.

I haven't had a hamburger anywhere in Oz that came with fries you always have to order as an extra except at the golden arches

great shakes, great cheese sticks. Reminded me of my time in the us. a few things i would love to see on the menu are kosher corn dogs as i really wanted to try one but it had pork in it. Also i would really like to try corn bread so that would be nice to see on the menu aswell. And maybe ben and jerrys icecream

I'm now a regular customer at Misty's diner,

and i've never had a bad meal. The reviews that made you wanna come in were true i've been coming to mistys diner i have NOT had a bad expirence in any way!

So the review you put together (some how) may or may not be true but if u ask me and some other people we would say thats not true in many ways!!!

What on earth makes you think the experience I had was somehow untrue???? What would I gain by posting a dishonest review?? That was MY experience. Good for you if yours was different. I very wanted it to be different, as I the only reason I went there in the first place, was due to the rave reviews!

I went there at 3pm on a Sunday, expecting and looking forward to experiencing everything that had been written here, but I have to admit, I left feeling very disappointed. The restaurant had perhaps 10 people in it, but I was left standing there for a good 15 minutes before a waiter even approached me! It took another 30 minutes before anyone returned to take my order. I had to call someone over, in the end. The burger was OK (Jack Burger) but I had to get through a lot of bun before I hit the meat. I ordered fries with the burger. Sadly, they weren't that hot or fresh. I think they'd been sitting there a while. Over $20 for an OK burger, some ordinary fries and a bottle of coke, topped off with really bad service. I wanted better. I'm sorry that I can't rate this place any higher. I really wanted to!

I've been to Mistys numerous times, have gotten a lot of friends onto the place, but I must agree with you. Service really lets them down - I've often been standing waiting to be seated while waitress' stock the fridge and act like they haven't seen me. While I think they offer a lot of great American food, the burgers are very average too. Good on you for being honest.

I can't stay away from Misty's !!!! I love the food, the sodas, the atmosphere, and most of all I love Misty ! I have never met such a down to earth, bubbly and happy host ! I love the new renovations, and look forward to see them completed. Misty is doing wonders with her Diner.

I'll be back !!

My ONLY complaint is that Misty never seems to have Dr Pepper Cherry Chocolate in stock !

Misty is a legend in her own right and her food is amazing. The service however let down our experience as we waited nearly 40 minutes to have a Thickshake and a cocktail brought to the table - also would be great to have more 'booths' in the restaurant... perhaps decor could do with a bit of tidying up - but on the whole it was a good place

I've been to Misty's twice now. I love it!

Misty's is the only authentic American-style diner in Melbourne. They have a great selection of burgers and other meals. And their shakes are to die for! (Though quite large!)

I love their food. Misty and her staff are all very nice and friendly. I was very impressed both times I've been, and I definitely plan to go again. (The only thing that stops me is that I live quite far away, so going in is a bit of a trip - but well worth it!)

Thanks Misty for bringing the great American-style diner to Melbourne!

(Disclosure: I'm a real American, who lives here in Melbourne, and I do occasionally miss delicious American comfort foods - which thankfully I can now find at Misty's!)

Okay, I know this is crazy... but on my "wish list" would be Chicago-style all-beef hot dogs ("dragged through the garden")! Though what they have already is already fantastic...!
