We purchased a $30k kitchen which was manufactured in Germany. The quality of the kitchen is good, but we had soo many headaches getting it completed (and its still not 100% complete).
First, the designer selected particular cabinets which were incompatable together (i.e. draws to go under the sink which would not work with the plumbing), the sales guy came out for the inspection to the site, and did not notice the plumbing was incorrect, it took more than 3 months to await cabinets to be remade in Germany and sent to Australia.
The electrical power dock supplied by a third party was not made to their measurements. Again this was another item that took three months to resolve, the replacement part that was sent after waiting two months was not the right part and we had to wait again!!!
The cook top was faulty and had to be replaced.
The oven didn't work after instalation and a repairman had to be sent out.
The list goes on, and you get the message. To get things done I had to jump on the phone and get angry. Which I am about to do again this week to get our final item fixed.
Installation was October last year, and it wasn't until about February we could unpack our kitchen stuff (and not have to worry about the baby playing with exposed electrical cables).
The Good:
Quality German made kitchen
The Bad:
Disorgaanised Australian operation that stuffed us around alot
