This place has been quiet (read empty) every time we've visited but the coffee is acceptable and the chocolate good....the room is quite small and there is a step on entry but otherwise unremarkable....

This is one of the many really nice cafes in Were street. The shop itself is quite small as there is a LARGE display of cakes, they seem to specialise in some greek style sweets (as far as I can tell). But they do just about anything you can think a good cake shop should have! The take away coffees are served in these cups that have a lovely little design on them...a ye olde men and women....just looking at them makes me happy. The shop fills up very quickly though there is plenty of tables out front too - if you want to brave the weather. It's definitely worth trying. I'm not a regular- but i have been there more than a handful of times and haven't been disappointed. From memory they put your take away cakes in a lovely box too. The greek cakes i'm referring to are the custardy ones, the name escapes me at present galupto or something of the like. but they also do friands and canoli etc...it's nice to have such a variety!

This place really draws you in because it's a suburban looking bakery in the middle of the city, it has no pretensions, it just sells good ole proper bakery food. And I can testify that everything looks great, the pies are tasty! and the lady that served us was smiley and friendly.

I love this place. It just feels funky! I go to the church lane location. My colleagues an I got onto this chocolate raspberry panaforte thing - it's all quite odd, layers of crepe like stuff with gooey chocolate and raspberry dripping everywhere and they heat it up for you. So we even went back to order a whole one as they do different cakes different days to keep it interesting. There is a ricotta muffin thing which is quite interesting. Been here for lunch too and it's been nice. It's a tad noisy here (probably due to the concrete floors) but the lighting is moody and relaxing. The seating is up on another level (a mezzanine of sorts) which removes you from the general flow of customers which is nice. The display of food is amazing...all the paninis and sandwiches ready there for you to eat. The coffee is quite acceptable to. The staff are very friendly...overall I've always had a pleasant experience here and taken a few people here for the nice lunch and chat.

This place just was not my bag. I had the quesadillas - portions I thought were small - food meh. Ambiance, seedy even in the middle of the day (came here for lunch). To me the decor looked like a wartime bunker (it's at the very base of a building, somewhat sunken) not a nice bar in the year 2013 - I expect more. Would not recommend it for lunches however maybe to bring a date late at night.. But I think the website portrays the servings/ menu and room itself quite accurately so check it out. It's just bleh!. I can't see what the fuss is about

My colleague goes here all the time and brings back amazing smelling food - leading me to go there myself and have exactly what she has, it's an egg plant stirfry (i reckon a bit unusual for an oriental place) and the stir fried fish (which i believe is what the other reviewer mentioned). It's just amaizing!!! Soo worth the visit...so much better than your average chinese place - in fact i'm salivating thinking of it. And of course the position is amazing - what a beautiful building and tastefully planned food court. You can 'breathe' in this food court. No matter how many other people are there there is soooo much space (the sky high ceiling helps!) It's a really nice upperclass food court. There is also lounges you can sit on down a few stairs which is nice when you are catching up with a friend.

THis place sells big square pieces of pizza which are pretty yum. But what attracted me to this place is the- goodness I don't even know what to call them. They are like arancini balls but I'm pretty sure they were potato and they came with some napolatana sauce. They are pretty big and only a couple of dollars each. Always on the look out for something small and hot to eat when I'm out, and also when i'm meeting with friends to look social. They are tasty! so try them.

Also I love going to this food court because it's just divine, big tables and ridiculously high ceilings which mean that any noise the heaps and heaps of patrons make it not heard by you...it's serenely peaceful - just what you want when you are a catching up with friends or getting away from the office

Love this place and clearly so many others do because we all line up at lunch time to get our curry. They have a vast array of curries, egg, chickpea, madrass, butter chicken, korma, basically all of them really!! Seriously I reckon they have about 15 curries on offer. it's the usual roti, drink curry deal about $10 or $11 but they also offer salads too (usually at no extra charge) they are interesting to say the least probably because I'm not used to an indian salad - however caution if your allergic to peanuts there was a salad i was served with them in and as far as I could see there was no warning - so just be cautious and shout at them to get your point across.

Was really disappointed by my smoked salmon hand roll the other day - it had a big hunk of chewy salmon in it which just turned me off the whole thing. Nothing else about the handroll makes me want to go back and try again.

Have made this place my coffee place in the morning, they make a decent cup of joe, but found a place I prefer better. However having said that this place makes the yummiest chicken pastie - it's homemade shortcrust pastry with yummy chicken breast in it - so comforting when your stuck in an office! Lol. they also sell other normal bais marie fare - chips, wedges, schnitzels, sandwiches as you like, pastas...but my pasties are my fav!! My colleague goes here all the time. And the staff are really firendly which is always nice.
